The Abaco Islands lie in the northern Bahamas approximately 160 miles off the east coast of Florida and stretch about 100 miles from the north to the south. Offering the world’s third largest barrier reef, the Abaco Islands are a true recreation and sportsman’s paradise. The islands of the Abacos include Great Abaco, Little Abaco, Lubbers Quarters, Walkers Cay, Spanish Cay, High Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Guana Cay, Man-o-War Cay, Elbow Cay (Hopetown), Scotland Cay, Gorda Cay (Castaway Cay), Stranger’s Cay, Umbrella Cay, Wood Cay, Moore’s Island along with many uninhabited islands. Marsh Harbour is the capital of Abaco and it the third largest city in the Bahamas next to Freeport, Grand Bahama and Nassau, New Providence, with a total population of approximately 14,000 people.

The Abacos have year round tropical temperatures with mid 70’s in the winter months and low 90’s in the summer months making time spent here very comfortable no matter what time of year you come. The Bahamas has its own currency, the Bahamian dollar that is equal to the U.S. dollar and is accepted and welcomed everywhere. There are no shortages of banks in the Bahamas, in fact there are over 360 financial intuitions here making the Bahamas one of the leading off shore banking centers in the world.

Once ruled by the British, the Bahamian people have adapted some of the British way of doing things like driving on the left side of the road and having a Prime Minister as the head of Parliamentary Government. The Bahamas gained their independence from the British throne on July 10, 1973.

Come experience all the beautiful islands that the Abacos have to offer and escape to this unspoiled peaceful paradise only a short boat or plane ride away from the United States.
